Maybe this is a "you problem", I block most of the doom screamers, and only follow smart, funny, and/or solid journalists. I also take breaks - looong breaks, if I find myself doom scrolling.
Also, not to be too glib, this isn't mandatory. You could always log off if it's making you unhappy.
