Actually Ruto's mom died before OoT, but that's irrelevent. Remember over 10 years ago when he said that there was a cut hunter ghost from Luigi's Mansion, and everyone repeated that as fact despite him being wrong? He stated this as fact, and now a bunch of people are going to repeat it as fact.

Except you made it up. There's 0 evidence pointing to Rutela being Ruto's mom.

CORRECTION: That quote is from the interviewer, not Aonuma himself, which actually means it's LESS likely that Rutela's husband was the Zora King from OoT. The interviewer clearly mistook Rutela's mention of the Zora King to refer to the same one from OoT.

You're usually more careful than this, especially after the Luigi's Mansion poacher ghost incident, but this is pretty egregious. You just said a bunch of stuff and presented it as hard fact without referencing a single source or piece of evidence. Please issue a correction.

The only evidence that Rutela's husband was the same King Zora as the one from Ocarina of Time is this quote from Aonuma, and it's a huge stretch. Notably, he didn't describe what the reference in question was, so there's no reason to believe he was referring to Rutela's dead husband.

I really wish you'd be more careful about spreading misinformation. There's no evidence that Rutela is Ruto's mom, and in fact it's impossible because Ruto's mom died before OoT. There's also no evidence that Zora had longer lifespans before BotW, and Ruto herself is evidence that they didn't.
