Wdym? Logging in uses a username and password passed on to your PDS. The email 2fa implementation doesn’t work with self-hosted rn. The PDS is just you self hosting their data servers

you lose the email 2fa, so there is at least one clear negative and it's unknown how it will play with potential paid features. I have one running but with no accounts due to this

the underlying protocol can only do public data rn. DMs don't use it and are just another normal centralized service, so perhaps they'll do the same for group chats

They don’t have the authority to oppose it anyways. They can choose to not cooperate, but unless they surround ICE with state police it’s fair game for the feds. The only true opposition is lawsuits

I mean in that regard yeah. I meant policy-wise to change the perception. Retrospectively it was really a lost cause to change the public opinion about the economy with policy and messaging so anyone connected to the admin was screwed by default
