I hope this administration was actually trying to keep flying safe. But I can see a power play where cutting flights to pressure an end to the shutdown.

The House is now on the hot seat. MJ didn’t get “his” way and it’s possible the Senate plan will be rejected/modified.

While not an outcome desired by most Dems, it is very clear that Republicans were more than ready to let people starve, eliminate jobs and destabilize the ATC system indefinitely.
Why - because they are mean-spirited and ruthless - just like their leader(s).
