After a couple of weeks of record rainfall, it's been great to get out around the island and enjoy the atmosphere and festivities in Corfu Town! The car-free sections of downtown host families and revelers in a way that reminds me of holiday celebrations in parks in the U.S.

Καλή Ανάσταση! Happy Easter from Kerkyra. Here it is tradition to smash clay pots to bring good luck in the new year. Also because it's awesome. You want to throw a clay pot the size of an oil drum from a balcony to the applause of thousands. You don't know why, but you do.

Beat most of the wind storm biking up to the tallest peak on the island this weekend. Worth the climb from the beach for these views! Definitely going to try it again with a better camera in nicer weather soon.

Into spring and the plant life around the island is not the least bit caught off guard.

So, our 12 year old dog knows the Greek word for beach now. Paralia zoomies!

The recent dust storm off the Sahara (yeah, still getting used to that being a thing) has dropped visibility. Here is a clear day from November!

I haven't posted very often this year... When possible, I've been out biking and hiking around this amazing Island! I'll try to be better about sharing photos here.

I was stopped on my ride through some farm tracks this morning by this oddly calming view. It is nearing the end of olive harvest season, so the nets are rolled up in some places. The hum of harvesters and trimmers are largely paused for a bit. Just quiet.

I will never not be amazed by the amount of effort it took to build an olive grove like this on the side of a mountain. Stone by stone, sapling by sapling

You may need to dodge a bit of rain and wear an extra sweater, but the off season can still surprise you! Near Pantokrator on the north side of Kerkyra. Not a bad hike before the workday!

Sometimes the early ferry gets the best views! Καλή μέρα, Ηγουμενίτσα!
