Between caregiving and writing, I’m searching for truth, meaning, and moments of grace. Entre les langues, les livres, et la vie — je cherche encore.
There are a lot of things on my mind at the moment. Too many to share in one post. This reflection on 20 years since I earned my BA in French is but one of those things.

I love handwritten letters and I have amassed many over the years, before they became so rare…but I guess I can’t share them without permission….

I did not realize how much I needed this book until I started reading it. It’s not long so if you need some encouragement, advice, and inspiration as we move closer and closer toward authoritarianism, this book is for you. They draw thoughtful insight from history and theology. Highly recommend.

A friend invited me to my first hip-hop concert tonight. It was Wu-Tang Clan and they were so amazing! The energy on stage and in the crowd just blew my mind! Also, it was nice to get out of the house 🙂.

Sharon McMahon makes a good point. Books should never be banned.

I wear the same shoes every day. Yes, I own a pair of hiking shoes and a pair of flip flops and a couple other old shoes that really should be thrown out, but no dress shoes. Nothing else. Now these are starting to show wear and tear. So is it time to replace them?

I finally got to see the Oscar winner for best documentary yesterday, “No Other Land”, and it was well worth it. Yes, this is a difficult topic and there’s a lot of history not covered in the film. But it was well done and I encourage everyone to watch it.

I read this book last year and it’s 1 of 5 of all I read back then that I ended up keeping. I read it because I didn’t know what was coming but I knew one thing - if this country falls apart like Germany did, I don’t want to be a mere bystander. I want to be part of the resistance.

I did not see any hard copies of Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde’s book on Amazon, so I bought a Kindle edition. I look forward to reading it.

In Scott McKnight’s “Revelation for the Rest of Us”, he gives a short list of famous people who have been jailed or imprisoned for just causes. It’s a good reminder because we never know when it will be our turn. I would be honored to be on a list like this.

One of the best anti-war films I’ve ever seen is “Joyeux Noel”. It always brings tears to my eyes…

5 years ago today, my mania went so out-of-control that I ended up totaling my car before being taken to the ER in an ambulance. No one was hurt. No other cars were involved. The story is told in more detail in the latest video on my YouTube channel: BonjourJubilation.

“Jesus and John Wayne” has been recommended by many in the deconstructionist world and I finally read it! It was such an eye-opener and very relevant! I highly recommend it.

A French book about cats in books throughout history came in the mail today. It’s published by the Bibliothèque Nationale de France and I’ve been looking forward to it for a long time.
