Been Linux gaming for 3 years now and the progression to easier setups and lower complexity in fixing common problems has dropped dramatically. Steam proton and native Linux runtimes are already good enough for 60-70% of gamers to switch and still be able to play their favorite games.

They did change it. Also added a ton of "helpful" auto formatting while typing that fucked me up for weeks until I found every setting to turn them off.
