The safest and most effective choice is clear:

➡️ Do not reopen the CFP
➡️ Enforce it
➡️ Defend science-based decision-making
➡️ Hold Member States accountable for the rules they already agreed to

A weakened CFP would contradict growing public concern for climate and biodiversity. We are ready to mobilise.

✔ Climate action can be delivered through full implementation of ecosystem-based fisheries management.
✔ Decarbonisation is possible within existing capacity ceilings.
✔ The landing obligation failed politically, not legally—and removing it would remove the only real accountability tool we have.

📢 Some claims need debunking.

Arguments that the CFP must be reopened to address climate change, increase capacity ceilings for decarbonisation, or scrap the landing obligation don’t hold up.

That uncertainty undermines generational renewal, accelerates the decline of coastal communities, and fuels populism.

📢 A revision would also create years of legal uncertainty.

Negotiations would take years, implementation would stall, and fishers, especially small-scale and coastal fishers, would pay the price. They need action now, not prolonged uncertainty.

🔹 Agreed safeguards bypassed
🔹 Even basic rules, like the 5% Blim threshold in multiannual plans (aka the ultimate limit before fish is gone), set aside
