I’ve been watching old drive in schlock the last few nights while I focus on illustrating, and I love it all.

The girls are catching up to my wife’s height. It’s scary how quick they’re growing right now.

My core family is looking old. 🥲

We brewed 16 gallons of Scottish 70 Shilling on Saturday. Can’t wait to keg it and share it.

Brewed some beer for the first time in probably 13 years. We were very rusty but the next brew will be a 15 gallon batch. We need to get some decent beer signage on the walls tho.

I did a gig poster for a ska show and I can’t wait to make more with the Venomador.

I took my girls to see Here Come The Mummies tonight.

Here they are realizing that no one else was dressed up for the show.

They had fun and eventually thanked me for how awesome I am as a dad.

We’ve had some roadrunners around the neighborhood lately and my giddy excitement over it worked its way in to a shirt design.

My Grandpa turned 101 a few days ago and we celebrated him today.

When taking this photo he asked “who’s the big guy?” And I told him it was him but it was probably me. 💁‍♂️

I picked up some magnets so people know my daughter is dangerous.

I made a poster for a big ska show out in LA. It’s for a good cause but makes me even angrier at the system affecting my friend’s bands.

As a designer I’m so slammed that I often forget to take the time to just draw for fun. And when I do, it’s sully studying the masters.

Duchamp was a recent master who riffed on Da Vinci. I played with the pose and form just to see.

Reading: American Idolatry by Andrew Whitehead

I have read a few political books in a row, and desperately need some escapism next. But this book puts a pin in so many things that have driven me crazy for the last 12 years living in Oklahoma.

Someone was selling Aquabats Buc-ee’s bootleg tees outside of the show, and I could not love it more.

Rad, dude. I recently bough a CD/cassette combo to get smaller bands releases. It has quite a few similar features but doesn’t side present! I kind of dig yours more.

Having to block people you barely remember from high school feels like a very 40’s pastime.

Reading:

The Book of Doors

[Gareth Brown]

I’m 38% in and enjoying this. It’s definitely written for grown ups but has energy like Second Hand Magic, a favorite of mine as a kid. Magic found in a mundane world. So far I’m delighted.

As a designer I’m charging a tariff on having to view such intentionally uncentered signatures in centered blocks of copy.

There was a ska show in my neighborhood the other day. One of my favorites from the 90’s, Five Iron Frenzy!

The opening posit is that America isn’t the heir of the founding fathers. I’m excited to dive deep on it, and it’s free with Audible, too!

Read: Theodore Roosevelt: An American Original

Enjoyed this light overall narrative of Teddy’s life. I plan on reading a more I depth series.

I decided to see if he had any living family, and his great great grandson wrote a book I’m now reading.
