I get the overarching point youre making (that data is already gone) but part of the GDPR means you can request that data be deleted by the people who currently hold it. Wont help if they sold you data to 3rd parties, but its a start.

except its not really being used to "fight crime", its being retained to ID peaceful protestors in breach of Article 8. Bridges v CC South Wales [2020] in the UK but Glukhin v Russia (2024) is a more recent example about AFR and proof that given the chance governments will use AFR on citizens.
