I can see the plot moving towards a possible job for George at Meadow Farm - he needs a break, and Esme needs the help. Will it materialise, and provide redemption for the young Grundy??

When a child in the 1950s, I had to carry my raincoat folded over my arm with the lining outside (to keep the outside clean), just like 'father' here...
