They could be one of the few pop groups in history who were able to amass both commercial and critical acclaim. A line I feel like modern popstars aren't walking very well as it's either commercial success or critical acclaim and respect as musicians.

That would elevate their status as not just another pop group but serious musicians which would instantly set them apart as pop groups aren't often aren't really taken seriously as artists.

Along with that they are not making tiktok or nostalgia bait music and actually try something different with their music. They have a heavy hand in the creative process of mainly their music, but everything else too; rock bands are known to have a diy ethos to them.
