if any of you are particularly cat minded my sister found a tiny little kitten who needs surgery tomorrow. my sister is absolutely devastated that she can’t keep her, but they found an amazing rescue. the rescue is asking for donations to help pay for her surgery. laceyslegacycatrescue.com

No pressure, but I’ll take all the help I can get! For context—written on the back of a ~mid 19c watercolor of a house supposedly in St Croix. I think I’ve made out most of the top line “From [unknown name] Uncle C Kunzen’s home in Westindies” (I think!) but the bottom is stumping me.

The photocopy is actually easier (for me) to read than the original which is in pencil, but here that is just in case

spent my week at the incomparable Edgewater—on the Hudson in Barrytown, New York—thinking and writing about objects and collections and interiors with friends and colleagues thanks to the support of the Jenrette Foundation. it’s been a truly blissful and stimulating time and I’m so grateful!

it’s good to tell people when you’re depressed because my friend gave me this naked rabbit baby keychain because “it’s a really rare one and you seem like you need it” and my fav professor in my dept told me how 29 was also the worst year of his life and I actually feel marginally better
