In excess of 250 people who have signed the open letter are from my employer, UBC.

This is a pretty sizable cohort of concerned people to sign an open letter to the House of Commons Select Committee.

I get that the law has some restraint on Universities, and in that way - the administration in particular, are curtailed in how we engage in this conversation.

However if this was a data breach by any other party, we would have made a statement, and done something about it.

And having a senior role in one of the (perceived to be) leading rankings newspaper, which in effect trades off the rankings, while influencing how people get ranked - this is pretty much the multiple job title that poaches and game keepers the world over envy
