Obviously idk if the con you’re going to has specific rules about that sort of thing or anything, but I think you really can’t go wrong with asking, especially if you feel like you might regret it if you don’t! He certainly gives great hugs :)

I’m gonna say as far as DT is concerned asking for a hug should definitely be fine! At my photo op last year he hugged almost everyone and when I walked up to him he quite literally already greeted me with a half-hug, so I think he’s usually pretty cool with hugs!
