That would be an interesting merger

I sold my house in LA last April and according to Zillow it's dropped 35k since. House across from mine sold for 75k less last month.

Reno for many

Too obscure?
October 28, 2025 at 6:01 PM
So where are we? 1925 or 1928?

Robert Reich calls this the new Gilded Age and I certainly trust him a fuck ton more than I trust Derek - I can't possibly quit Twitter - Thompson. Lazy is better than feckless.

The best thing the next Democratic president could do is just tear it down. Never call it the Trump ballroom.

I've been in the IT industry in Silicon Valley so long I can remember what a big role Swisher played in this. It's remarkable how she has managed to memory hole so much of that while becoming everyone's favorite Tech Whisperer.

And like our soybean exports, that's not coming back.

So ignore the giant "fake" in the headline, but zero in on "appeared"?

I do not understand the continued obsession with headlines in newspapers that fewer and fewer Americans read.

WOW!
October 18, 2025 at 6:01 PM
Suuuure they don't know how that got there.
October 15, 2025 at 9:43 PM
I think so too! Let's hope we're not wrong again right?!
October 15, 2025 at 9:42 PM
Same :-/
October 15, 2025 at 9:41 PM
Yes! That was a huge shock for me as well, that and the Hispanic vote moving so far toward him. I guess these are the new swing voters, and that makes me nervous.
October 15, 2025 at 9:38 PM
Agreed, and it's such a part of our history, the jazz age followed by the 30s, then the 50s, the 60s followed by the 80s, etc. we could be old man before things start straightening out :-/
October 15, 2025 at 9:36 PM
Same! Almost hilariously the same, voted for the same people, and I'm the same age ;-) I really hope that the dam will break with the insanity that we are in right now, but I have read and experienced enough history over my lifetime to know that these things can take generations to resolve.

We think alike! I feel like it's the same for electing a governor from California. we've had too many problems here, which are exaggerated out of all proportion to reality. Plus, everybody blames Californians for the housing crisis.
October 15, 2025 at 9:01 PM
I agree with this as well :-( I really like Whitmer, and she is from a purple swing state in the Midwest, which would normally be very advantageous for us. I agree though, I don't think this country will elect a female president anytime soon.

I like Pritzker myself, although I admit to not knowing much more about him than his actions during the ICE crisis in Chicago.
I lived in San Francisco during Newsom's tenure as government mayor there, and lived in California for most of the time he has been governor. Not a fan
October 15, 2025 at 8:31 PM
I'm not really sure what that has to do with my comment, but you do you.
October 15, 2025 at 8:12 PM
Democrats are going to nominate Newsom because he's social media popular, and then we will lose. Again.
