I remember when I was a kid and we narrowly avoided a pile up on the freeway on the 4th of July, caused by drivers distracted by fireworks. This was a disaster waiting to happen if normal traffic had been allowed to continue. What a bunch of incompetent, uncaring fools.

I am currently loving my 2023 Chevy Bolt EV. I bought it used, but they were under 30K new. It most certainly can be done and I am glad Chevy is bringing them back.

That is an excellent point and you are right, a sizable chunk of our population sees them that way now - I know I do - but there are way too many who do not. No one remembers the Stasi fondly today and hopefully ICE will occupy the same place in our nation's collective history.

I'm wondering if at some point in the future, we will look at these people in ICE the way the Germans regarded people who had been Stasi in the former East Germany.

Back in college in the 90's, I took an elective called "Modern German Culture", taught by an awesome young visiting professor from Germany. I was really interested to hear about the rise of Hitler as explained by a German...and now, 30 years later, I finally get it.
