It's disheartening, triggering & disgusting how many people do not take r*pe & SA seriously over the internet. It's already hard enough speak out about it. I do not understand why we foster communities that trivialize &/or normalize it. Please offer some basic empathy to the victims and nothing else

This matters because it’s become so standardized in western folklore that pretty much people call anything with a deer skull by the name. It’s harmful not only because to them, invoking the name puts them in danger, but also because the deer skull was IS NOT part of the legend, spreading misinfo .

For indigenous people, it is very taboo to call that myth by name. The one that whistles in the night a very dangerous spirit in the Navajo faith, but it’s been conflated with upper Canadian / First Nation stories.
