such a great contrast to get an hour-long pres again about only one game and yet it seems more bountiful than everything they showed off in that direct combined. it's a miracle that someone like sakurai has been around long enough to present a game like that while being AAA. breath of fresh air

fiddling around with this again. made her larger to fit better with other characters like sonic (pictured here) since she was way too small before. also hopefully more accurate to in-game. icons are based on the little chibi one you walk around as on the River Town map in Blood of the Killer.

it looks like you don't have to press the charge button to activate the boost panels with star-type machines any more... disappointing

the mini-stars to visually clarify slipstreaming and the enemy boosts is smart, great change to make those mechanics more obvious to newcomers instead of manual/internet trivia. was also thinking about outrun 2's lame 'slipstream' text pop-up instead of using wind/speedline effects or something
