Its infrastructure is vastly superior, its gov’ts grasp of resources & labour is far higher & speed of decision-making (based on project delivery) is in a different league

The reason that UK housing was low cost after WW2 is due to 2 things:

1) the huge post war building programme
2) the huge post war building programme

It is absolutely a numbers issues. Housing corps will not buy houses they can’t rent out. Build more houses than are required / demanded and prices will fall. It is very very very simple supply and demand

Build more houses. Build more houses than demand and shift the supply / demand curve for all types of housing. If you want more money in your pockets you need to ‘collapse the housing market’ and make homes massively cheaper to buy.

Of course you will not do this because it would lose you votes.
