Plant spotlight! Ionactis linariifolia, stiff aster is long-blooming perfect for a rock garden. The stiff needle-like foliage is highlighted by small purple flowers with yellow centers. Average-dry soil, full sun.

Native plant spotlight! Lobelia siphilitica, "the great blue lobelia" sounds like the title of a nature documentary, but it aptly describes this species. Spikes of lavender-blue flowers bring welcome color to late summer gardens. moist-wet soil. Part shade-shade.
