May 21 is the Day of Political Prisoners of Belarus.

The situation with political prisoners and repression in Belarus remains dangerous, with a risk of further escalation as the regime intensifies its crackdown on dissent.

Independent human rights experts have called on Belarusian authorities to immediately release Viktoria Kulsha, imprisoned in Zarechye Correctional Colony No. 24, who has reportedly been on an indefinite hunger strike since the end of April.

How often have I heard this phrase: “So, you are Russian.” “No, I am a Belarusian.” Then comes the following phrase: "So, you are Russian, Belarus is in Russia." And I have to repeat emphasizing the negation of the Russian origin - "No, I am not Russian, I am a Belarusian. Belarus is not Russia."
