I guess it’s better than being whisked up into a van by masked men and disappeared to El Salvador, never to be seen again. But to your question, Italy just changed their immigration laws (probably in anticipation of escalating applications): great & grandparents are no longer a path to citizenship.

If we wanted to eliminate the national debt: Reduce tax breaks for the wealthy (repeal Bush/Tя☭mp tax cuts), remove Social Security tax ceiling; remove loopholes for corporations, reduce wasteful spending by military, stop underfunding the IRS. Understand the GQP is trying to weaken the government.

Reinstate Eisenhower tax code, which saw the largest expansion of unprecedented economic growth, prosperity, we would have a zero National Debt. “Federal spending as a percentage of GDP declined from 20.4 to 18.4 percent.” Only since Eisenhower’s presidency was there a decrease in federal spending.

Personally, I suspect tariffs are going to be used to raise prices regardless. If America was serious about making America prosperous and productive again for all Americans, not just the wealthy, reinstate the Eisenhower tax rates, and forget about tariffs.

Are we ready to have a national conversation about the diseased state of Americans? Ninety million eligible voters didn’t vote at all, 77 million voted for a racist pathological liar & convicted felon who paid more in fines for stealing from charity than most Americans will make in their lifetime.

It’s a story as old as mankind: “conflicting social groups struggling for control over a society’s wealth and means of production.” The American conflict: The Civil War was the attempt to replace American democracy with a system based on the idea some men are better than others.

Since 9/11, the US has spent trillions on war. In 2020, we spent more funding Lockheed than the Dept of Education. We are choosing war profiteering over educating our children, military spending over universal healthcare, affordable housing. We could decide improving human lives is more important.
