A fine concert by Krystian Zimerman in Taipei tonight. The first half was all Chopin, well performed but honestly I could do with never hearing those pieces again. The real treat was the second half, Debussy’s Estampes and then Szymanowski’s Variations on a Polish Folk Theme, a new piece for me.
