Playing unreal today, he catches way more stick than he deserves. People need to understand the role he’s asked to play plus he’s far more progressive than Pahlinha and other midfielders

But getting to knockouts gets us much more money which we can use to buy better players and increases prestige to attract players

He’s unfairly scapegoated but is a very metronomic presence in midfield and breaks up lots of play. He also physically can hold his own with big teams which some of our young players I don’t think are yet.

Without him there’s no chance we’d have been as competitive as we’ve been the last 10 years and we wouldn’t have the stadium, training ground, international presence, PSR freedom.

I’m a little worried about CB depth - if we play 3 at the back and Talia/Vuskovic not ready. Think Danso was a great signing and if either the young players are ready we should be okay, just don’t want the drop off we’ve had the last 2 years
