Indeed, Europe will now unite, increase the size / capability of militaries, abandon reliance upon the U.S and, with it, willingness to support U.S' next venture into conflict. Europe well understands that peace is worth fighting for and what happens when good people stand by and do nothing.

Perhaps the one thing Starmer could do that would have an instant positive impact on a 'nation of shopkeepers' is to get shot of Amazon et al. It would provide AI proof job security in retail, put the heart back into communities, reduce unemployment and increase revenue at the stroke of a pen.
