TV news was accepted because it was popular and /generally/ accurate. That doesn’t mean that it didn’t have the same motivations that it has now. I see I’m wrong about the fairness doctrine. Does that mean that TV news wasn’t at the whims of the pursuit of wealth? Because it’s ALWAYS been that way.
