What I didn't expect when coming to Grayling for a fall getaway - was peak colors! It's 47 degrees F, raining / sun on and off, and absolutely beautiful. We had a nice hike enjoying the colors. Tomorrow, we'll forage some things to make tea.

The new porch remodel is *almost* done. We ran out of balusters today, so the very end piece (not shown) will be finished this week.
Mew lights have been installed on the porch & garage.

The wildlife sightings have been amazing this trip. Today, while hiking, I saw a large brownish blur fly a short distance in the trees, silent as can be. I said to Scott "I wonder if hawks have the silent feather "design" like owls ... and he said he wasn't sure, but that he loves owls ...
