This is a good read for today: highly recommended. And… considering the miracle of vaccines, makes you furious at come of your countrymen and, say, RFK Jr. (the HHS commissioner, for my overseas friends.)

Can’t we just import her from NK? She’d be less insufferable than the one with the job today.

Jeff Goodell’s book is riveting and… scary AF. Climate change is not a belief like, say, MAGA or flying saucers.

On this topic, I can recommend a terrific book by Ogilvy’s Rory Sutherland which discusses the folly of applying logic and data to areas of life which logic and data may not apply. He discusses 2016, and how the overreliance on data helped bring about HRC’s defeat at the hands of Trump.

^^^THIS is a horrible yet possible outcome! I just finished "Life and Death of the American Worker" by Alice Driver, which is a 21st century look at meatpacking in Arkansas (think "The Jungle" but for Tyson). High labor businesses NEED immigrants, so a future of convict-leasing may be a thing.

Specifically to this statement, I recommend everyone read “Life and Death of the American Worker” by Alice Driver. Her 21st century take on the meatpacking workers is well worth the read. (No affiliation - just loved it.)

Just finished Dr. Paul Bierman’s “When the Ice Is Gone”… very important/accessible account of the findings of ice cores from Greenland, and what they suggest for our future. Also - reading this at peak Trump Greenland nonsense made it extra special. #Greenland #Cryosphere #ClimateScience
