For the record, our family would almost certainly pay less in taxes if this bill passes. Thanks, but no thanks.

If one of these is your rep, and if you think, as one of them has said, that Trump's Huge, Hideous Bill is "garbage," call them now and demand that they vote no. There's still time to kill it.

You don't need to agree with everything everyone else is shouting about. But if you care at all about what Trump & Co are doing to our country and the world, just show up. Refuse to hunker down, shut up, and obey. This is how we start to reclaim our country.

Hands Off!
Donald Trump and Elon Musk think this country belongs to them. They're taking everything they can get their hands on and daring the world to stop them. On Saturday, April 5th, we're taking to the stre...

This week's #TeslaTakedown, Boston today. Also in a city near you. The outrage is rising. The crowds are building. Voters are starting to push back. And Trump and his minions are starting to feel the heat. We're standing up against the destruction of our government and the theft of our country.

Head out now to your friendly neighborhood Tesla store! We’re on our way to ours.

The stakes couldn’t be higher. No one is coming to save us—not politicians, not the media.

The thought police are on the march. No dissent on Israel/Gaza will be allowed. No mention of racism, sexism, homo/transphobia, un-American terms such as D, E, I permitted. Any and all challenges to federal policy/actions will be prosecuted. American history will be scrubbed of "improper ideology."

Elon Musk is pouring $$$ into Wisconsin to try to buy Tuesday’s vote for State Supreme Court Justice. He knows that what happens there may determine who holds power in DC and Trump’s ability to destroy our democracy. If you live in WI, here's how you can stop him: #Crawford April 1.

Boston folks--I hope you’ll join me today for this rally in support of federal workers. Trump etc. are out to destroy the government that serves and protects us all and turn the US into a country run by and for the rich and powerful. If that’s not your vision of the future, please come tell them so.

Follow up: Schumer may not be your senator, but his votes affect us all. This is no ordinary constituent issue. Also, as Dem. leader he's in a position of extraordinary power, and so should pay attention to the concerns of all Americans.

Write/call him and your own senators now if you are able.

I have just sent this letter to Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer. This vote will happen today but it's not too late to register your opposition to the CR that would sanction Trump and Musk's chain saw destruction of the federal government. Write/call him and your senators now if you are able.

... And a few weeks ago I learned that the story is a finalist for a features award from the Education Writers Association. Wow! I’ll find out in a couple of weeks when they fly me out to their conference and awards ceremony in... Las Vegas😱. But just being a finalist is a big honor.

First post! After ~30 years on the environment/climate beat and a couple of years in hibernation, I took a swerve and wrote a long piece for The Boston Globe last year on a radical experiment in public school integration that I participated in as a 7th grader in 1971-72, and its resonance today...
The radical, forgotten experiment in educational integration that changed my life | The Boston Globe
In 1971, kids from Roxbury and Lincoln spent half the year attending school together in Boston and the other half in the suburbs. Fifty years later, one of them tracked down his fellow students to see...
