For sake of clarity, Supergirl the movie or Supergirl the series?

I feel like the burning disc era was maybe 10 years? The analog mixtape era was probably twice as long. Not as surprising that the term "burn" doesn't quite have the lasting power as "tape" (to record)

What kind of dogs? Grocery store hot dogs in the microwave, acceptable. Ballpark dogs? Get an attorney.

They did a talking dog Home Alone ripoff when I think no one was demanding either of those things.

Never mind them, now that I think about it I can't believe one of those rip-off animation studios hasn't done it yet. Or Asylum, I can imagine them doing an ersatz live action Calvin and Hobbes film.

I know we call it the "lost era," but it's really the "post heroes" era and I think that's an interesting time for these characters. It's also relevant to our current era, a lot of the icons and institutions we grew up with are dead or going away, and we need to find out way without them.

Definitely opens up possibilities for Romulan storylines

Oh, thinking of that: would Saavik be half-Romulan in this off-shoot?

Hmm... the comics from that era would probably have it be Andorian or Klingon.

Or would Miguel Ferrer be the new Enterprise navigator?

Would you bring back a legacy character for the new engineer and navigator or would you go for someone new?

And Scotty still hates the Excelsior because it's so overengineered and needlessly complicated so his "saving the ship" turns into basically dismantling half of it.

Yes! Kirk is the one giving them missions/advising, Sulu is captain, Chekov is his XO, Saavik is already a Kirk/Spock mix but is in the Sulu/Chekov job, David has the McCoy skepticism and does Spock's job (and I like the idea of a civilian on the crew).
