She was a superstar and will be deeply missed. She had been Speaker of the Minnesota State House. In our current legislature there was a 67 - 67 split. They finished last Monday. She provided the only Democratic vote in the House so a compromise bill passed and the government did not shutdown.

They know it will go to court. That’s the point. The cost of time and effort to litigate everything is the plan. The delay of years to come to a resolution drives people to agree to make deals.

I think Democrats missed the fact that 2024 voters wanted to send a message they want CHANGE. Biden waited too long to do anything about the border. People are unhappy with the cost of living. In these circumstances they vote against the incumbent party to send a message.

I agree. Spreading the costs of housing, feeding and schooling of people making asylum claims into Blue states was a smart move.

Just to be clear: because they aren’t using “regular order” they need 2/3s of all members to vote for it. That’s why not even consulting with Democrats was such a dumb move. They HAVE to have a lot of Democrats vote for the bill!

I think we need to use the new terminology and acknowledge the rules have changed. “Flood the zone” with “entertaining takes.” Make stuff up if it helps to make your point. Ignore all fact checks. Media sees the shift! Contradict yourself all the time and call it A WEAVE!
