and about the gen5 map idk why but i always thought i adored how versatile it tried to be, introducing the first major city and just felt very "breathing" and alive to me, even if it was definitely linear.
The main thing gen5 fixed from gen4 was that the game felt fast. so the pacing was great!

Really liking gen2 as a whole
that's where my qualm with HGSS comes in, i feel like it improves it in a lot of very obvious ways (physical special split, more modern soundtrack remixing with a versatile soundfont) but the gen4 pacing lets it down a lot more than I'd like to admit

i like johto i think it was just a very natural step from gen1 and it really worked, and it introduced some of my favorite pokemon and some of my favorite gymleaders (karen was one of the big reasons dark type became my favorite) and i had a crush on Clair and honestly i just remember really-

My hot take would be is that gen4 was *good*, but majorly let down by its pacing and the generally uninteresting map

Idk black/white enchanted me from the beginning and i thought it tried the hardest to have an identity out of all the games before it, with like the more American theme, and how the gym leaders were designed to be more at home, and obviously that storyline being an actual storyline-

i love ur art!!!! if you feel like you're not enjoying it at the minute then you should take a break and just. kind of try to see through how you really feel about it. Is it burnout, or something else? That way you'll find out what you really want

NO cuz i grew up with them windowed ACs. Installing one where i live now would soothe my entire life from a sin wave to an x=y
