Nobody close to Trudeau will succeed now. And that’s the price his inner circle will pay for their blind loyalty when they could see the iceberg ahead.

Very little to be positive about as a liberal these days. The party is being destroyed by blind loyalty to a leader who should have stepped aside a year ago. Federal Liberals 2024 meet Ontario Liberals 2018. Official party status is all we can hope for now.

So far a much more civilized platform in my experience. I hope it stays that way.

I’m not disagreeing with your facts. It’s just my view is a bit different based on a different lived experience. I’m probably cynical these days. Anyway, it’s too complex a topic for quick social media rebuttals so I’ll save my arguments for holiday cocktails with friends. Happy Holidays!

I’m not specifically blaming Trudeau. I feel Trump won in part because the working class in the USA were sick of hearing elites tell them how great the economy was while they were falling behind. I feel that way too. Although I doubt his billionaire cabinet will fix that for them.

What does average or median wealth even matter to ordinary working class people when a few at the top are tipping the scales in their favour? The rich are getting richer. We’re on a path to oligarchy style government in the western democracies, and some could argue we’ve arrived there already.

If our finances looked this bad? For most of us they do, which is why the liberals are running 20 points behind in the polls for the last 18 months.

Couldn’t agree more! Feeling that Canada needs to get its fiscal house in order I was reluctantly planning on supporting him in the next election. Now my reluctance is turning into doubt. Every PM needs to put country before party. The next 8 weeks will reveal much.

I celebrate that a political leader is following through on their promises. I hope he follows through on all his other promises too. Elections have consequences and voters were clear they wanted this. I think it’s great.
