I'll probably go to a con soon, I'm next in line for a suit and have some connections to make! I don't think I'll end up being ready for MFF though

Usually cloud cover makes the difference in these cases, but assuming you mean today, a cold front has been making its way through your region. Compressional heating happens along some cold fronts where wind blows into the front and then gets smushed as the front progresses forward.

If I were to go, I would love to do so through means of which I could give back to the con/represent our science for the fandom :)

Philippe, take it from me—I wouldn't work for the team I do if my concerns about your perspective here weren't being met & exceeded on our streams. My #1 goal is to have the highest CSI in where our work is most valuable, which is bridging the gap between SPC watches and NWS warnings in rare events.

Just for some context: I edit and ensure all video scripts are solid before they're created, as well as help choose thumbnails & titles to prevent unnecessary hyperbole + reach the largest audience. I also work the streams in full in an effort to maximize our POD/minimize FAR in nationwide coverage.

Good to hear you're prepared!

It sucks when someone is superficial though, and that's what your last post is. You don't need to spend time watching him to see his serious side & our millions raised for nonprofit operations thereafter, but you shouldn't diss them if you don't spend that time.

Clickbait is not for everyone, but everyone *does* have a different definition of clickbait. I'm sorry you feel like you're aggressed by the thumbnails; but, they have proven to get scientifically-vetted info out to exponentially more people (I edit the video scripts).

His chasing accident is a public video on his YouTube channel, there to be transparent & raise awareness for proper chasing technique and etiquette.

I'm the lead meteorologist, and the only one who issues the y'all watches right now. We bridge the gap between a watch and a warning. I'd recommend listening to the latest weatherbrains podcast from Spann, they talk about y'all watches for 20-25 minutes. Lead NOAA Social scientist supports them.

I take comments like this seriously, because I have dedicated years of my life & thousands of hours toward making his broadcast polished & statistically significant. To me, this is highly offensive due to the superficial nature of your observation/assumption about his work. What's wrong with it?

No chase today, at my bf's PhD graduation ceremony :)

If storms are closer to the low pressure center, they're closer to the jet streak higher up. Thus, the total winds affecting a storm as it towers up increases, and in this case the low pressure & jet stream are further north
