I took an oath to the US Constitution and I meant it. I believe in science, rule of law, good public schools, and kindness. I'm an attorney in higher ed, proud member of the Jewish diaspora, voracious reader, and Baltimore Ravens fan.
There's a reason Shakespeare wrote, "First, kill all the lawyers." And it's not because he hated lawyers. It's because he realized that lawyers are the first line of defense against unchecked power.
