This is nuts. I did a lot more research on this issue this morning and it's way worse than most people realize. Every platform that monetizes engagement is affected. I wrote a substack post for others to consider. This is 'enshittification' in a nutshell

All social media platforms with monetization are driving outrage politics. It's just been demonstrated.
The X country label controversy this past weekend demonstrated something that isn't just a MAGA accounts problem.

Our entire national policy has been held hostage by the oil industry for nearly a century. This is the last bit of legal resistance they have to eliminate. It is as if they do not hold life on earth sacred. Only profit.
