I say this to say people have legit concerns about uncontrolled growth. My county is currently in the Top 10 in the country for growth and combined with weak zoning laws its a nightmare to many. Woods turned to 500 home subdivisions overnight.

Our small town is getting density with subdivisions popping up everywhere with homes so close to one another you can touch each other if you stand between them. They are destroying wildlife habitat and leaving not a tree or a bush. The houses are put up in a week and are falling apart in a year.

No doubt that was the intent, but 75 years on there are plenty of mixed neighborhoods in the south as well as a legacy of rural Black folk who also don’t want to live in densely populated apartment complexes or cities.

Agree. In fact as someone who likes to garden, bird watch and have some peace & quiet I don’t know how people live on top of each other without going nuts. You could not pay me to live in an apartment again after having one when I was in grad school. Hell on earth.
