Democrats are trying to find a way to restore faith in government and democracy without actually changing anything about how it works. That's why they're useless in this moment. They will continue to be useless.

It is hard to grasp but large masses of Americans are both racist/xenophobic AND not racist/xenophobic enough to applaud what Trump is doing. It's goldilocks shit, they want a level of racism/xenophobia calibrated exactly to their personal preferences, and you just can't make that policy. Don't try.

Saying flat-out, no more ICE, no more DHS, is standing up to fascism, not only in this administration but because the entire department was fascist from the start, an overreaction to 9/11, exactly what Bin Laden wanted. He won that one, and fuck us for that.

The reason Dem are where they are isn't because of the left, progressives, socialists, whatever. Both parties are corporately captured, elitist institutions run by out-of-touch white kleptocrats using trappings of earlier times and rhetoric of Americana to appeal to voters, Dems are just BAD at it.
