Sadly we still struggle for agency today. Some things have gotten better for some of our sisters but others still face obstacles everyday.

Anything useful added in alt text is better than nothing at all. There were some posts going around recently with tips to make alt text easier.

They’re use “femininity” to degrade him. As if being a woman makes him lesser. The misogyny is so ingrained that you can’t step back and see it? Why do people degrade others by calling them b*tch or p*ssy? Because in their mind, feminizing someone makes them lesser, weaker, other.

New TOS change in October: you own your post content but if you post there, the corp is granted broad license of the content. If no one is posting, he loses out on $$ he can make from the content itself, data farmed from interactions on post and AI training. It’s all about his $$.

If it’s pinging through and showing on the app icon, go into Bluesky app settings in your phone and turn off notifications there.

When on notifications page, there is a gear in upper right corner. The only option is experimental but it might help.

Is that why I can’t find anything “sports ball” related here? While I never considered playing or discussing sports as ableist, is it truly ableist or “I don’t wanna see anything about anything that isn’t something I wanna see!”?

Absolutely. Haven’t set foot in a church in years but some old rote shite will spill out occasionally. Actively working to rewrite those old scripts takes a lot of introspection.

They were also raised in a male centered society. My mother has said some misogynistic BS and I had to remind her she’s a woman. She raised us solo for years but my grandfather was on her mortgage because banks wouldn’t loan to a single female. It’s difficult changing your entire thought pattern.
