As part of the cooperation between the BioReMo project partners, Lidar scanning of a forest site in the Gebharts Moor area was carried out for the League for Nature Conservation Lower Austria. The drone flight were carried out by our team on September 16, 2025.

The main objective of the new BioReMo project is to research biodiversity in the border region of Lower Austria, South Moravia and South Bohemia. Among other things, the project will result in an exchange of information between NGOs, scientists and protected area managers in the border region.

Our colleague and friend Jakub Kašpar presented a poster at the TRACE 2025 conference in Umeå ( www.slu.se/en/calendar/... ) this week on the study "Factors behind the increasing variability of tree growth within and between sites in Central European forests". Extensive bark beetle disturbance has significantly changed the forests of the Bohemian Switzerland National Park, but it has not stopped the life. This also applies to the rare habitats of waterlogged spruce forests, which occur on the bottoms of ravines and valleys in sandstone rock towns.
