Blue Cabin helps care-experienced children build better, stronger relationships through artist-led creativity.
This is the Place uses music-making to help care-experienced babies and children build attachments with the adults in their lives. We deliver it with our partners at Darlington Borough Council and Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council and with support from Youth Music.

The artworks and film looked incredible and ensured that the voices of the care-experienced children and young people we support were heard and that their creativity was showcased - on a global stage!

Here are some photos from yesterday and we hope to share more soon. #UNGA80

The event was hosted by Dame Barbara Woodward, the UK's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, with Catherine Russell, executive director of UNICEF, and Rt Hon David Lammy MP. We especially valued hearing the voices of people with lived experience of care at the event as well.

In advance of the event, we sent to New York artwork and creative writing by young men in HMP Deerbolt in County Durham, and a short film called All About Adoption, made by young people in Tees Valley.

Yesterday was a surreal and memorable day for Blue Cabin as we saw film and artwork created by children and young people taking part in our projects take centre stage at the United Nations in New York.
