Probably early 40's? Desk phones had already changed their shape, but the old cloth cords hadn't quite surrendered to the newer cords that resembled little slinkies. 🤣

While I don't have to do this in my state of California, could you order these books online, perhaps from a used book site? (I use Abebooks.com) You shouldn't have to resort to this, but if there is a title your child wants, it might be a solution.

I am lucky to live in California. Just try and ban a book here! After seeing "To Kill a Mockingbird" a couple times....great film with Gregory Peck....I bought the book and read it. All it did was make me understand how things were in a certain time and period of America. We should all know this.
