Western Bluebirds were brought back from the brink of extinction one nesting box at a time. Really. We monitor the boxes every week and record what we see.

Huell Howser did a show with our club! Wanna see it? Here it goes… https://vimeo.com/1519714
Here’s to far fewer

I don’t think it works that way on Twitter anymore either, fwiw.

Beauty. The Rogue River flowed through my backyard…in 2 different houses!

I did it…pulled the trigger on what I hope will be a good birding lens. A tough decision, that 200-800 you got was very tempting but I’d be using my old 6D body. Abe’s had Sony 200-600 on sale $500 off (usually priced the same) & I’d rather use my newer A7R3 body so decision made!

Now I wait.

My only frame of reference is wildly swinging [somebody else’s] telescope around trying to find anything specific, heh.

Nice! I got lens envy when I saw your lens post, started looking for something better than my current 200 mm limit! Haven’t really contemplated anything more than 400 mm and was thinking about it being hard to find the subject at that length… I hadn’t even considered doing it at 800 mm!

The thing is...I do have camera equipment! Sony A73R, Canon 6D, Batis & other good lenses...none over 200mm, though.

Just been focusing on getting to as many of my parks/boxes as possible, quickly.

30+ boxes spread around 20+ city parks/greenbelts...I check on them all every week. Tunnel-vision!

That sure looks like what I've been calling Grossbeaks around here! I am SO not a pro.
