On the vegetarian side. If I rem cats need taurine and I think if you knew what you're doing you fine synthetic taurine (and other meat nutrients) but seems like vegans tend to like natural foods, so...?

This was years ago. Haven't had any cats for a while because of the spouse's allergies. But pet food companies in general follow nutritional guidelines (knew a guy from Purina R&D) so it's my belief most pets will do fine on commercial food. I also know a pet food marketing guy, who said most of /1

Define ideal. My effing neighbor had an (unneutered of course) cat they left outdoors. "We think he should have a natural diet. If he looks too thin, we'll put out a piece of raw chicken."
Meanwhile my cats lived to 18-20 on a diet of cheapo 9 Lives.
