This is extremely concerning, especially for those with disabilities and their carers. They want to cut support in children & YP with SEND, then ensure they continue to be unsupported into adulthood and left to starve! This New New Labour Party is just another branch of the cruel Conservative Party

Until there is real accountability for LA's acting with impunity & failing to adhere to the legislation and the appropriate funding put in place and ring fenced, nothing will change.

LA's disregarding needs, disregarding professional advice, spending huge amounts of £££ on solicitors & barristers to prevent provision, and, of course, gaslighting & blaming parents is a regular occurrence families face when they have a child/YP with SEND.

The new gov is yet to scrap the safety valve programme. LA's should not be financially rewarded for cutting support from those who need it most. Families are routinely forced into appeal & SENDIST hearings now have a lead time of 12 months, in which time LA's are trying to stop current provision.
