two layers of distribution. Are there any agreements beyond handshakes and corporate platitudes that actually prevent them from doing it?

I dig how more leaders are getting mechanics that compliment but aren’t exactly 1:1 copies of the front or back. Really makes the choice of when to deploy more engaging

Unironically your podcasts have helped me enjoy a couple indie games that heavily relied on name dropping Three Kingdoms characters in the plot. So you’re not too far off haha

Played OG Zendikar block cube with friends last night and have to agree. It really is what I was missing from magic for the last while. Cards that I actually have to build competently around.

Honestly it’d be cool if you did a video on it when you’re able to. It seems like it could be a solid game and I’d love to hear your insights

Sooooo turn 5 rather than 4 omniscience that avoids graveyard hate? I’m more okay with this

Great work on this video. I love this series (FF3 for life baby) and while I'm always going to ignore the UB, I am happy that those who wanted to see this cultural mixing get to see something so well done. It is wonderful to see the joy the designers were able to capture with the cards.

Aaaaaaand after a couple year hiatus I am now seriously considering breaking my no magic rule and going to prerelease

things that make the system great and different in the first scene or two to really cement what the game is about. Would you be able to comment on how the dice system feels at all? I remember the playtests made rolls seem really exciting with resource generation or guaranteed cool GM things.

I appreciate the write up! I'm a little surprised that they went with such a classic D&D adventure to introduce their game. It sounds like they really could have used something more akin to Fabula Ultima's quick start where the GM is given very clear instructions to let the players use the

contender and some other prizing. Idk how exactly this would play out in magic because so many standard decks right now have pieces of other top tier decks in them. You could maybe do something with underrepresented color pairs, but I don’t see anyone being able to find a good unique definition.

underplayed 4 or 5 contenders (their game’s almost commander equivalent) and place a bounty for them at their large scale tournaments. If you enter the tournament with that contender and you’re the highest placing person who played a bounty contender, you are given one of a kind promos for that

I appreciate the info!

That is one very good boy. Are there any other good double blue payoffs?
May 12, 2025 at 10:08 PM
Honestly, I think it needs more turn 8 plays. Gotta be ready for the late game haha

I assumed anything past 6 cost just needs to be ignored and left for a slower format. After getting some reps in with some brews on Petranaki, I see other players consistently drawing into 7+ cost cards like it’s part of their game plan. Is this only anecdotal on my part or do higher costs see play?

that distribution is not something to be underestimated. One of these games I've seen in Target and matches the vibe of casual gaming groups I frequent. The other I've only seen on Reddit in specific hobby subreddits where I know I need to take opinions with a number of salt grains.
