It's FEs unfun feature where unless you are a thief (they have a 100% chance), you have a chance of getting a hidden item. I recall its like this until much later in the series where it's 100%. Fortunately, Binding Blade does have the desert item trick to guarantee getting the item at least.

Ah damn that sucks and is typical in Arcadia. Not sure if you wanted to play blind cause there are a few useful items in the sand which sucks. The only real tip is that rescue dropping with fliers is really useful especially in the ledge.

Oh fair there. Was mostly thinking about how FE6 armor bosses you usually wanna use an Armorslayer instead of a Hammer despite it having WTD due to the low hit of the Hammer.

IS definitely learned more into the WT in DS/3DS FE with high weapon ranks giving bonuses that are negated by WTD.

FE6 is the last game where playable axes aren't insanely good. They are ridiculously strong in 7-10 due to accuracy no longer being an issue (from higher hit rates for the weapons and generally lower enemy quality) so their higher MT really lets them dominate.

I'd love for it to get a Crisis Core style remake where they update the graphics but keep the core of the game the same.

Probably will not happen though due to the series being niche.

There are a few difficulty spikes although it's mainly on Runan's route so you might wanna swap good units on his route later (there are certain notorious bosses). Game has a lot of useful missables like Thracia but is overall easier.

It's the most strict ranking system in the series so I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you wanna do future ranked runs.

Only thing rank unlocks is sound room for getting A rank (270-299 turns with full recruitment, 250-269 otherwise) and some CG in the epilogue.

Ranks in Thracia are really strict. For max SSS rank, you need to beat it in 179 turns or lower with full recruitment which is 47 units alive. Basically doesn't allow for deaths except for Olwen if you recruit her replacement.

Unfortunate although the game was meant to sell guides so they made it extra hard and he's not even worth it.

Gotta use the Sleep Sword for it. Although the real funny thing is that Xavier can straight up kill his generals that defected if you did it right (probably to prevent him from getting stuck cause he beelines straight to Leif after all have defected).

It's honestly the best attempt at balancing mounted units (it even lowers their stats being dismounted, some pretty harshly) but you'll only see it in Kaga games post FE5 and 3H where its a buff. That being said it is funny and dumb that they all use swords dismounted instead of their main weapon.
