My son was an excellent student 1590 SAT, IB diploma, GPA of 3.9, Eagle Scout, lots of extracirriculars. He could not get into any top schools. And he will graduate now with 100k in debt.

Yes. And also comparison shop. A BA in, say Biology education, likely costs more from Harvard than your local state college. Also 2 at a community college before 2 at a university can be cost effective. The BA and credentialing will get you the job.

I think predatory pricing is also happening in the grocery stores. We need the CFPB restored.

I think students need to take a consumer approach to education. If your likely annual salary earnings is 85,000 a year, then paying 35,000 a year or 140,000 total for college to be qualified for the job is a decision to make with care.

I made my son get it. I had to explain how it would be awful if his wife got cervical cancer with a 2 year old at home and about Michael Douglas getting throat cancer. 🙄

If it gets completed, we will have something with additional good uses. I can not begrudge improved recreation opportunities for our military. The contractors will get stiffed anyway.
