I agree Metaphor is recent. The deltarune series started in 2018. I disagree with your point. The staying power games are all not recent titles. Nothing had the popularity or crossover as E33. If you can come up with anything else not from 5+ years ago I would say the genre is not doing well.

I have a persona 5 hand tattoo and love it. It didnt save turn based rpgs, it had a directors cut during a global pandemic. A popular game from 10y ago isnt "saving" the genre. E33 had cross over appeal and sold twice as much as metaphor in 6 months. All but 1 mentioned are old releases.
